Skagit Public Utility District has received a clean audit report from the Washington State Auditor's Office for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024.

State Auditor Pat McCarthy's office found no material weaknesses in internal controls and no instances of noncompliance with laws, regulations, contracts, or grant agreements. The auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the district's financial statements, indicating they present fairly the district's financial position and operations.

"This clean audit reflects our commitment to prudent financial management and transparency in serving our customers," said General Manager George Sidhu.

The audit report shows the district ended 2024 with net position of $223.3 million, an increase of 3.85% from the previous year. Operating revenues totaled $32.1 million for the year.
