Finalists Selected for District No. 3 Commissioner Seat

During a special meeting held Thursday night, the Skagit PUD Board of Commissioners interviewed six candidates to fill the unexpired six-year term of its Commissioner District No. 3 position. 

The seat is currently held by Eron Berg who has represented residents in eastern Skagit County since 2017. Berg is stepping down in August.

Skagit PUD initially received 19 applications for the position. The Board selected six candidates to participate in the first interview using the Zoom meeting platform during which each of the candidates fielded questions from the Board. An executive session was held following the meeting where the Board deliberated to select three candidates for a second interview.

The finalists are:

A second interview will be held at a special meeting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 using the Zoom meeting platform. An executive session is scheduled after the interviews for the Board to select their preferred candidate. The Board plans to announce the selection of the District No. 3 appointment immediately following the executive session.

The newly appointed commissioner is expected to begin their service on August 16 and serve from the time of appointment until December 31, 2022.
