Skagit PUD's project estimate was $4.9 million. All bids documents are in the process of being reviewed. A decision to accept the bid will be forthcoming in about a week.
The Josh Wilson Road Transmission Pipeline consists of the installation of approximately 23,000 feet of new 18-inch diameter ductile iron pipe; connecting to the District’s existing 16-inch diameter transmission pipeline at Old Highway 99 North Road and Gear Road to the east and the existing 18-inch diameter water transmission pipeline at Josh Wilson Road and Higgins Airport Way to the west. The work will also include installation of approximately 244 feet of 30-inch diameter steel casing bored under Interstate 5, two road crossings, four connections to existing pipelines, construction of a PRV vault and mainline meter vault, and installation of fiber optic conduit, cable and vaults.
Additional roadway work includes the construction of roadway stabilization and guardrail repair for an approximate 400-foot section of Josh Wilson Road.
