New Ag Rate Option Now Available
Posted Thursday, March 12, 2020
Skagit PUD is pleased to announce a new agricultural water rate classification for 2020.
Agricultural customers who are interested in opting into this classification will need to meet both of the following criteria:
- Customer’s water service(s) is on property classified as farm and agricultural land with the Skagit County Assessor, under Chapter 84.34 of the Revised Code of Washington; and
- Customer is certified to be in compliance with the PUD’s Cross-Connection Control Program, which may include the installation of a new backflow prevention assembly.
Upon certification, a lower Agriculture rate ($3.20 vs. $5.31 per unit of water in 2020) will be applied to future bills if the account maintains its compliance with the PUD’s Cross-Connection Control Program and Skagit County’s Agriculture use classification.
For information about the Cross-Connection Control Program, please contact Cross-Connection Control Coordinator Courtney Shilling at (360) 848-2138 or email shilling@skagitpud.org.
