Skyridge Pipeline Replacement Project Underway

Posted Tuesday, February 21, 2023

Starting this week, Skagit PUD will begin replacing its existing water pipeline, approximately 3,770 linear feet, from Blodgett Road to Olympic Place along Skyridge Road and Olympic Place. The line is being replaced because the pipe’s age, size, and material are insufficient to serve the area’s future water needs adequately. The upgraded pipeline will also increase the water flow available to provide fire protection.

A new water line will be installed, tested, and commissioned during construction. Although the goal is to limit the impact on customers, we anticipate minor traffic delays in the area and brief interruptions to water service. The construction crew will provide 24-hour advance notice before any planned interruptions.

To assist motorists, residents, and service vehicles with traffic management, flaggers will be posted at each end of the project near where construction crews are working. Skagit PUD will also place electronic message signs along the construction route to notify customers of upcoming work.
